Cooking has been an integral part of daily life since the stone ages and the development of fire. On this site we have a selection of all the Cookware & Bakeware you could need to help create delicious dishes and make life easier.

Originally Cookware related to cooking vessels initially used on the campfire then the stove top but always with the heat source directly under the vessel, whilst Bakeware related to those cooking vessels used in an oven, where the air in the compartment is heated to the required temperature to cook the food.  With improvements in materials and manufacturing as well as changes to cooking methods, there are now many cooking vessels that have a universal use. Some can now go from freezer to stove or oven then to table and finally to dishwasher.

Induction hobs require specific metal vessels to work and microwave ovens should never be used with any exposed metal unless specifically designed for that purpose.

No kitchen is complete without at least basic cookware and bakeware. A set of saucepans and frying pan or two, a selection of casserole dishes, roasting pans, baking trays and cake tins of various sizes. This is often a mismatched assortment, collected over the years, but if the time has come to replace and update your cookware and bakeware we have a wide range to choose from. We also have ranges of Speciality Cookware designed to cook food in a specific way like Tagines, or to cook a specific food like Pasta Pots.

Modern Cookware is manufactured from many different materials and combinations of materials, each with its own characteristics. The choice of material for cookware and bakeware has a significant effect on the items performance (and cost), particularly in terms of thermal conductivity and how much food sticks to the item when in use. See our Comparison table for guidance.

Beware Cooking pot and lid handles are often made of the same material as the vessels, requiring the use of oven gloves for handling. If pot and lid handles are made of non-thermally conductive material like Bakelite, plastic or wood, handling is easier but still requires caution. Lids are sometimes made of glass so the cooking process can be observed.
